Anthology
Having now finished Word by Word, I must express my appreciation. I laughed and cried all over again. Some of the pieces I have read or heard previously, but that didn't seem to dim their power. Some were total surprises. How did I miss that piece by Laura? Great job one and all.

Like you, Donna, I am slowly reading through the anthology and enjoying it thoroughly. I have discovered within Laura Brown's "I Will Fear No Evil," which I don't recall seeing in her portfolio. Is this the piece you refer to?
The essay wasn't in my portfolio, though the topic is to be continued. I wanted to make one clear, statement. I read my draft aloud to my boy friend and burst into tears.
I got stuck on the "writing for my profession" side of the portfolio - and there was lots of feedback on stickies indicating my ISI friends would have liked more of my creative work in the portfolio.
The anthology deserves considered reading, especially because we know the authors.
